Bernard Buffet painted bouquets from the early 1950s and made flowers the subject of his 1979 exhibition. “A bouquet exists at its most beautiful for only a moment, before it begins to fade.” That tension between presence and impermanence inspired our series of faces painted with flowers. For PROJECTVM, flowers are life itself: vivid, fleeting, unforgettable.
Four flowers, four faces, four ways of being. The narcissus turns the gaze inward; the sunflower follows the light. The pansy holds a thought, while the lily carries a quiet elegance. Painted on skin, each flower becomes more than a motif: an expression of the person beneath it.
